IS YOUR ASPHALT FAILING? DETERMINING WHAT THE FAILURE IS, IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PARTS OF YOUR REPAIRS. EACH ASPHALT REPAIR TECHNIQUE IS USED FOR DIFFERENT TYPES OF DAMAGE. DOING THE INCORRECT REPAIRS CAN LEAD TO FAILURE OF THE ASPHALT PAVEMENT WITHIN JUST ONE YEAR OF THE INSTALLATION.

OVERLAY

An asphalt Overlay is a good option for your parking lot when your asphalt is still in relatively good condition. Even if you have small areas of potholing and cracking an Overlay can still be accomplished. Those areas will be removed and replaced prior to the overlay so that the base for the overlay is in good condition throughout your asphalt surface.

REMOVE AND REPLACE

When asphalt damage or other failure is beyond the scope for an Overlay or Petromat Overlay then Removal and Replacement of the asphalt pavement may be necessary. The old asphalt will need to be completely removed down to the base subgrade and then new asphalt will be added. This process is more time consuming and expensive compared with an overlay so maintaining your asphalt by sealcoating and patching smaller areas can save you thousands in the long run.

GRINDING

When the asphalt is too damaged to do an overlay but your subgrade is still in good condition, then a grind and overlay may be the best option. The asphalt is ground up at a pre-determined depth, removed offsite and then an asphalt overlay is done on top of the area providing consistent depth and flow.
